Our Story

What happens when God works His magic?

A failed engagement. A father-daughter dance at school. A boy from small town Nebraska meets a city girl from Portland, Oregon. Then, 30 years later you realize that you’ve gone from a “God blessed the Broken Road” moment to, “I Swear” to, “Remember When”, all the while “Unanswered Prayers”, keep the covenant of marriage, that God brought together,

“working together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose”

Romans 8:28

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans for a future filled with hope

The Why

Most couples that we knew, taught, or even just happened to see, just seemed to be marking time. They got married because they “fell in love.” Then, without the connection to God and each other, that feeling drained away as the realities of real life set in. They kept “marking time” in a marriage that was good enough, without being fulfilled. We knew that “good enough” was not what God was calling us to have with our marriage.

What We Believe

We believe knowing God changes everything.

From the moment we accept Christ, we are in the process of becoming… becoming everything that God would have us be to bring glory and honor to Him. This asks of us a willingness to dive into His instruction book for direction. It asks that we put aside our desires for His. It comes with the understanding that, in learning to “become,” we will fail. The grace of God will prevail. His provision is sufficient and His direction is as perfect as His love for us.

How we get there

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
— 1 Corinthian 13:4-7
